Studies of an Actor

Pencil, watercolor and white heightening on brown paper, ca.1880 (?), 370 x 234 mm., signed in ink with initial. Provenance: Paul Bernat (not in Lugt). Wonderful sheet of studies, the major one a full-length portrait of a standing actor, his arms folded, possibly in the role of Hamlet, finished in watercolor and white gouache. Drawings by Bracquemond are rarely seen on the market.
