Entrée des Croisés à Constantinople (The Entry of the Crusaders into Constantinople)

Etching, 1889, 157 x 179 mm., Béraldi 792, B. N. Inv. N.D. Fine impression of a published state of the same print, with text and the plate edges beveled, on laid paper with good margins. The text contains no reference to the book mentioned by Béraldi, but instead gives Charles Wittmann's name as printer and a publisher's line of the Gazette des Beaux-Arts. This becomes still more mysterious since the print is absent from the Sanchez & Seydoux catalog of all GBA prints (as well as from the Bibliothèque National Inventaire). Scholarship on Bracquemond prints still has a long way to go.
