Drei Koenigsstrasse, Frankfurt-Am-Main
Etching, 1911, 147 x 120 mm. Fine impression in brown-black on old laid paper with full margins, signed in pencil; three tiny spots of foxing in the lower margin. Martin Hardie (Print Collector's Quarterly, Vol. 2, No. 1, February, 1912) wrote enthusiastically of the etchings Webster did in the old quarter of Frankfurt with its medieval buildings, "felicitous in charm of theme, in play of light and shade, and in the suggestion of life given by the animated figures." He also took the occasion to praise Webster's pencil drawing, comparing him to Muirhead Bone in finesse, precision and freshness.
