Caricature Portrait of Whistler
Soft-ground etching (?), 1898, 267 x 167 mm., Pousette-Dart N.D. (but mentioned in the preface). Fine impression on yellowish, very thin laid paper with good margins, signed in pencil. Though it is often reproduced, pencil signed impressions of the print are rare. The drawing is both deft in workmanship and telling in impact. Haskell was very proud of it. Whistler hated it.
