The Four Evangelists (complete set)
Other Images:

Etchings, 230 x 203 mm. each, De Vesme 50-53, Rizzi 115-118 only states. Fine impressions on laid paper, one showing the watermark of three crescents, two others showing the watermark of an eagle, with small margins outside the plate mark; No. 4 with a pale brown stain in the image and a small thin spot. The images are derived from the frescoes painted by Giambattista in the Sagredo Chapel in the church of S. Francesco della Vigna, Venice, in 1743. The prints are quite rare, as no set has appeared at auction in more than twenty years and the set does not appear to be in the collections of the MFA Boston or the Metropolitan Museum. The British Museum owns a single plate from the set.
