Etching, with pencil and wash additions, 1884, 227 x 304 mm. A fine proof impression on thin, laid japan paper with small margins, with pencil additions in the trees at the left center and ink wash delicately added in many areas of the foreground, signed in pencil and inscribed with the title. Sunnyside was the home of the writer Washington Irving. Hill's watercolor of the subject, which is in the MFA Boston, is thought by Stebbins to date from ca. 1860. The etching is inscribed in the plate with the date 1884.
