Woman with a Veil
Lithograph, 1944, 290 x 182 mm. A fine impression on simili-japon paper with good margins, signed and dated in pencil and inscribed "prova dell'art." The image, while completely typical of Campigli in subject and style, is head and shoulders above most of his graphic work, particularly the later, color prints, in its sense of mystery and elegant lithographic drawing and shading. There was, apparently, a regular edition of 50 apart from this proof, but the print appears only rarely on the market.
