Drypoint, 1914, 158 x 56 mm, Duthuit 27. A fine impression on greyish chine-appliqué with large, full, margins, annotated, numbered and signed in ink from the edition of 15. Matisse's etchings and drypoints of 1914, printed in tiny editions, exemplified almost all his salient characteristics: spontaneity, economy of means, a graceful line, eastern subject matter and patterned ornamentation. La Persane is one of the best and most efficiently complete of the series.
