Winter, a House in Green Park
Lithograph, 1890-94, 315 x 235 mm., Hausberg 178, edition about 50.
A fine impression of this transfer lithograph on laid paper with full margins, unsigned as are most impressions of this print and apparently quite rare. Hausberg theorizes that since the print was not exhibited among Roussel's lithographs at the dealer Dowdeswell in 1894, the image may have been of the house of a friend and intended for latter's use. We have been unable to find another impression of it at public sale in at least the last fifteen years. The facade of the small, elegant house is shown fronted by bare trees and the work is signed in the stone.
