Description: |
Seated on a bench in a sort of wooden structure, a powerful-looking man with jacket and straw boater plays a clearly recognizeable tuba. The drawing, probably cut down from a larger sheet, extends irregularly at the bottom to give space for his right foot. Signed with one initial at the lower right, but definitely this artist, who worked in Paris and made illustrations for many periodicals. Music catalog # 471. |
