Description: |
One of a few etched-line proofs before the plate was mezzotinted, printed in black on laid paper with full margins and signed in pencil. The work is after a watercolor by Peter De Wint. The etched shield signature here disappears in the mezzotint states.
IMAGE AVAILABLE in online exhibition, THE short SHOW: Etchings, Mezzotints and Aquatints of Sir Frank Short on the 100th Anniversary of the Private View of his works in London. |
