Description: |
Fine, detailed drawing of a city street centering on an imposing town hall with a clock tower with five- and six-story buildings contiguously down the street and a line up of small booths, obviously shops, near the town hall. There are no figures, emphasizing the idea that this is a design for a stage set. The drawing is on Van Gelder laid paper and there are architectural-like scribbles verso. No signature, but the work is so close to Platzer that it is almost certainly by him. |
