Description: |
Superb proof impression on laid paper with good margins, signed in pencil. The image shows a lamp-lit scene of a group of men around a table playing whist (a card game). It was later published in "Le Billard (poème)" by A. Lalanne (presumably the artist's father) as plate 3, the first being a title page, the second a scene of a billiard game. Signed impressions of Lalanne etchings are scarce and desirable. |
