Description: |
Very beautiful, soft impression, made to look like a pencil sketch, printed on old wove paper watermarked Clarke & Co., trimmed to the platemark by the artist and, like the impression illustrated in Hausberg, signed twice in pencil, once at the top, once at the bottom of the image. Verso, a pencil inscription: "No. 2, given to Miss H. Pettigrew, T.R., October, 1891. A pale stain to the right of the sitter's head. As the total printing was 10, the print is of considerable rarity; no impression has been seen on the market for many years. |
