Description: |
Very fine impression with variably-wiped plate tone on textured laid paper with full margins, signed and numbered in pencil. The image shows a rocky coastal scene, with inlets, figures standing on the rocks and looking out to sea, a number of small boats and a large, three-masted schooner (les trois mâts). Latenay is known for his art nouveau style color lithographs. His etchings are quite different, very much in the tradition of French landscape etching and exceedingly well done. |
