Description: |
Fine impression in brown-black ink on simili-japon with full margins, signed in pencil. The image is strikingly Whistlerian and clearly inspired by Whistler's Venetian etchings. It looks through a covered arcade toward a street, a young girl stands at the front and other children are playing under the roof. At the right foreground,a quickly sketched man leans against a pillar. In the Whistlerian style, the middle and far ground are etched in detail (they are the central composition) and the foreground is far more lightly sketched |
