Description: |
Fine, dark impression, but with areas of greyish wear in the lower right corner, on laid paper trimmed along the edges of the image and lacking the text below. This is one of only two prints known by Jacobsz and is after a painting by Pynas now in Stockholm. Whether a chemist's laboratory or an alchemist's (the titles differ), the subject is not often seen in early prints. |
