Description: |
Despite the title, or perhaps punning on the title, this is a genre subject: a girl and her father sit at a tble, she with her hand on his shoulder, he playing the violin from a propped-up score, both singing. On the table, as well as the music is a bottle of wine, glasses, fruit, a bouquet of flowers and a hot pot. The etching, done by Aurèle himself, is apparently after his own painting exhibited at the Salon. Fine, dark impression on laid paper with full marginsm as published by Cadart. |
