Description: |
Fine impression on thick wove paper with good margins, signed in pencil and with an unidentified stamp with the penciled number 133; the paper is browned and there is some light foxing mostly outside the image. The scene is a snow-covered farm field with a row of trees and a village behind. An abandoned plow stands in the field which is being inundated with crows. The sky is dark and stormy. Le Meilleur was born in Rouen and did the overwhelming majority of his work in Normandy, where this scene must be. |
