Description: |
The drawing comes from a sketchbook and bears the circular Buhot estate stamp. On the reverse are additional sketches of a confessional and it is most likely that these drawings were made in Buhot’s home town of Valognes in Normandy. Brief as they are, they show a Callot-like ability to define a posture and a relationship between figures. The price is less than that of virtually any Buhot print. In online exhibition, SIXTY ORIGINAL DRAWINGS BY PRINT MAKERS (American, British and Continental, 19th-20th Century). |
