Description: Superb impression, with burr and plate tone, on laid paper with full margins and four remarques in the lower plate margin, signed and numbered in pencil and with a blindstamp (Lugt 400b) that was applied to the print by the publisher Boutitie on issue. This is not the print in their catalog called Cirque Ambulant, but a quite different image and considerably larger. It must date from some time after the catalog was published, but it apparently does not exist in the Bibliotheque Nationale collection either. Beurdeley's stamp does not appear on the print, but a pencil scrawl verso says it is from his collection. The print is Brouet at his best, the procession including a myriad of facial and figural types (presumably Gypsies) as well as three bears on leashes..
