Fine impression with plate tone in brown ink on wove paper with good margins, as published in Hamerton's "Landscape," 1885. The dating of the plate in Schneider ("Canterbury, Eng., Aug. 1884") may mislead one into thinking that the view shown is at Canterbury. It is not (Canterbury is on the Stour River, not the Thames), and the image is of the Thames at London. |
