Very fine impression with light plate tone on a modern, fairly thick laid paper with large margins, not pencil signed but inscribed by Parrish "trial proof." The state is before the addition, to the right of the tall, tree, of two additional scraggly trees and the unlargement of another tree between them and the tall one, as well as other small details. This impression, illustrated in Schneider, may be unique, even though it bears a Klackner number stamp at the lower left. Parrish signed 13 impressions for Klackner, presumably all of the second state. Fréjus is inland from St. Raphael about 15 miles west of Cannes on the Riviera. |
