Description: Fine impression on laid paper trimmed on or along the platemark which is visible in places on all sides; a flattened sharp horizontal crease across the center has lost some tiny bits of ink. The work, by an anonymous engraver of the Goltzius workshop, is in reverse of the Goltzius engraving B. 156 or 1583, but with many differences (note the presence of a hairy skull) and with different verses. Sanraedam also copied the Goltzius print, but his version differs from both the original and this copy. The subject, of course, is Andromeda chained to a rock and guarded by a dragon, rescued by Perseus riding on Pegasus and carrying the shield with Medusa's head, all elements of which are included in the composition.
