Fine impression on thin wove paper with full margins, pencil signed and numbered from the tiny edition of 15. A London subject, the image shows a military-dressed but overweight guardian, presumably at the British Museum, hands in his back pockets, looking toward the cases displaying the Greek tanagras (which are not shown). The print is an odd instance of an incomplete image by Laboureur, with tentative framing lines to reduce the composition, but there apparently was no second state. |
