Description: |
Meticulously finished drawing with fine detail on laid paper laid down to another sheet; a few accidental touches of green and brown watercolor. The biblical reference is to Numbers (OT) 16: 16-33, about Jehovah's punishment of those who have turned against Moses. The figure of Moses is at the right. The work has been engraved in reverse. Tidemann was born in Germany but worked in Holland.
