Description: |
Fine, inky impression on wove paper, trimmed on the platemark which is also inky. The work is not listed in Hillemacher's catalog of Norblin's work, although it is clearly in his style. Among his pupils, the only one with a similar etching style was Heinrich Netter. The print bears a false Rembrandt signature, something which is known to occur with some known and fully catalogued Norblin etchings but also with works by Nether. |
