Fine proof impression, before letters and number, on thin laid paper with good margins. An impression of the published state is in the Achenbach Foundation collection in San Francisco. Although Brissot is not coventionally listed among the Barbizon School artists, and Compiègne is not very close to Barbizon, both the subject matter and the style here are close to the work of Jacque, Daubigny and other Barbizon artists. |
