Fine impression on chine-volant with large margins, one of a small number of impressions taken from this stone (there was no edition), signed in pencil; the sheet wrinkled in places from uneven drying afte printing, a few spots of foxing. The drawn composition is vertical, but Forain has placed the figure in a large, horizontal space, and since he signed it to the left of the figure, he obviously wanted blank space at the left side. Rare. |
