Fine, early impression with the first publisher's address (chez P. de Rochefort) on laid paper trimmed on or just inside the platemark but with the full text and plate margin around the image; some light foxing in the lower plate margin, a tiny brown stain in the subject and some pale grey spots at the left edge of the sheet. The Bacchanales are considered to be among Gillot's best works. |
