Description: |
Very fine impression on laid paper with thread margins; a couple of tiny nicks. The image belongs to a set most unusual for Solis showing elongated female allegorical figures on a black ground with clouds and putti and landscapes below. They are clearly the most beautiful prints ever made by this artist. This image is number 3 of the set. Attributes seem beside the point here, but one of the putti carries an open book with a partial alphabet. |
