Description: |
Fine impression in brown-black with plate tone on an irregularly torn sheet of thin, brownish, old laid paper, signed in pencil; the upper margin with small losses and damages, one going just into the platemark. There is a pencil notation at the bottom that reads "reverse negative" and a pencil monogram JP, so this impression was most probably used for photographic reproduction in some publication. The image, a view down the center of the street, shows Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament with a host of sketchily-drawn figures and carriages. |
