| Description: |
Fine impression on laid paper with narrow margins. The plate size is deceptive for the image is in a inscribed oval much smaller than the rectangular plate. The woman does seem to resemble Rembrandt's mother and the face probably derives from Rembrandt etchings. The composition, though, seems to be original in the style of Rembrandt, or more likely Gerard Dou. |
