Rapid but telling preliminary sketches in brown ink on wove paper, two of a kneeling female figure and children, one of a standing female with children at the base. These may have been alternative designs or different parts of the same project. The sheet bears the stamp of the Chapu sale in June, 1982; a few creases and a central horizontal fold as well as a bit of old mounting paper verso. |
