Description: |
A strong, perhaps slightly overinked, impression on wove paper with good margins, from the series "What one says and what one thinks." Rossini, standing in his paintings-filled drawing room, says to the handsome young would-be composer, "I would give three operas to have written your romance." What he thinks is given in a musical quotation from his opera "La Cenerentola," Act I, Scene 2, in which Don Magnifico sings the words "A donkey, but attractive." |
