Description: Fine impression on laid paper, with the watermark of a pilgrim carrying a cross, trimmed on or inside the platemark but outside the borderlines, with the full text below; small loss in blank paper at the bottom of the image and bits of the upper corners all restored. The impression is annotated in brown ink in Italian in the text area and so it must also have been in an Italian collection at one time. The print rarely appears for sale, although Le Clerc's Flight into Egypt (R-D 1), also after Saraceni, is apparently more common. Le Clerc, who should not be confused with the publisher of the same name, was a painter who studied and worked under Saraceni in Italy and made a few quite fine prints.
