La Halte des Bohèmiens
Engraving, 1938, 328 x 278 mm., Loyer 539 iii/iii. Fine, precise impression on BFK Rives wove paper with full margins, from the only edition of 108 and published by the Societé des Peintres Graveurs Français and with their blind stamp, signed and numbered in pencil. There were only single proofs of the first two states. Fully mature Laboureur, moving away from the cubism of his middle years, but with the same elongated figures, the same precise engraving technique and the same light touch. No one could mistake it for the work of another artist.
