Etching, ca. 1648, DeVesme/Massar 73 vii/viii, 338 x 484 mm. Generally fine impression of a later issue of this celebrated print, with the address of Van Westerhout in Rome, on laid paper with small margins all around; traces of two vertical creases and a few spots of printer's ink in the sky. The distant landscape as well as the foreground details are still quite sharp and clear. The image is of the celebration of Corpus Christi Day in the court of the Palais Royale in Paris, attended by the young King Louis XIV and his mother Anne of Austria. The Queen had had the King's Raphael tapestries displayed for the occasion and a grand structure erected.
