Drypoint, 1925, 225 x 390 mm. Superb impression with burr and plate tone on laid paper with full margins, signed in pencil. Osborne was a student of Frank Short, but both his draughtsmanship and his drypoint work call up the name of Muirhead Bone. Having accepted the conservative style of the plate, one can hardly fault it for either composition or technique and were it signed by Bone, rather than Osborne, it would certainly be considered in the upper half of his works.
