Lithograph in six colors, 1951, Fine & Looney 295, 482 x 348 mm., signed, titled, numbered and dated in pencil. Fine impression on fairly heavy wove paper with full margins, some old tape stains in the margins only. This impression notes the edition as 40; apparently some other impressions state it as 35. Spruance also did a black and white version of the subject the same year (F&L 294), but the color is far more effective in this wonderful representation of metropolitan mayhem. Although Spruance was a Philadelphia artist, the details here seem to correspond to the New York Metropolitan Transit System. Wonderful print.
