Birds of Ohio
Pen and black ink, over etching, 2001, 104 x 120 mm. On a late impression or copy of a landscape etching by Johannes Brosterhuysen (ca. 1596-1650) of a country road bordered with trees, the meticulously drawn heads and part-bodies of three enormous birds interject themselves into the landscape space from outside the borderline. Mounted on another sheet and signed and dated verso.
